The 2019 Psychiatric Nursing Conference will explore innovative strategies to promote mental health well-being through inter-professional collaboration.
- Apply a collaborative approach to mental health care in a variety of settings
- Discuss minimally disruptive care in psychiatric mental health
- Examine cultural perspectives in ongoing management and treatment of mental illness
Intended Audience: This conference is designed for registered nurses, mental health professionals, social workers, and all other interested healthcare professionals.

This conference will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Phillilps Hall, Siebens Building, Mayo Clinic, 100 Second Avenue SW, Rochester, Minnesota.

You are invited to submit a poster abstract for the Psychiatric Nursing Conference. This poster session is a great opportunity to network with peers and share your knowledge. Healthcare professionals specializing in caring of psychiatric patients will be interested in learning about the most up-to-date information related to care in a variety of settings.
The posters will be accepted based on the following criteria:
- Topic is relevant to mental health and applicable to nursing
- Abstract is clear and concise and at minimum includes :
- Description of the project (eg: research, evidence-based practice change, process improvement, etc)
- Implementation strategies
- Evaluation methodology
Submission signifies the intent of the submitter(s) to present the poster at the August 12, 2019, Psychiatric Nursing Conference in Rochester, Minnesota. Conference participants are expected to assume costs related to travel, accommodations, and registration.
To submit an abstract, you must register for the conference and submit your completed abstract by July 7, 2019. Notification of final abstract selections will be made by July 15, 2019.
Register before July 22, 2019
The conference registration fee of $165 includes instructional materials, breakfast, and break refreshments. Lunch will be on your own. A student rate of $85 is available. Please bring proof of current student status to the conference. Pre-registration is required, and preferred by July 22, 2019.
Out of respect for conference participants, children are restricted from the conference.
If you cancel your participation in this conference, your registration fee, less an administration fee, will be refunded when written notification is received by Mayo Continuing Nursing Education before July 22, 2019 (email: email@example.com). No refunds will be made on or after July 22, 2019.
Mayo Continuing Nursing Education reserves the right to cancel or postpone any conference due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event Mayo Continuing Nursing Education must cancel or postpone this conference, Mayo Continuing Nursing Education will refund the registration fee, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses to participants, including fees assessed by airline/travel/lodging agencies.

You must complete the evaluation and claim your certificate to earn contact hours.
Participants can earn up to 7.5 ANCC nursing contact hours for attendance at the conference, commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity and completion of the evaluation.
Mayo Clinic Section of Social Work has been designated by the Minnesota Board of Social Work as an approved continuing education provider. This conference fulfills requirements for 7.5 continuing education hours.
In support of improving patient care, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
