This course is designed to address current clinical information for the care of patients and their families, before, birth, and beyond. Accomplished faculty will provide insight for all care providers.
- Examine perinatal psychosocial health for patients
- Explore wellness, diversity, and inclusivity practices that support optimal outcomes for patients and families
- Identify the risk of medication use in breastfeeding mothers
This conference is designed for nurses, public health nurses, advanced practice providers, physicians, lactation consultants, lactation counselors, dietitians, and social workers, who care for the perinatal/neonatal population.

Dr. Thomas Hale is Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Dean of Research at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He is the founder and director of the InfantRisk Center, a national call center for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. He holds degrees in Pharmacy and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology and is widely experienced in Pediatric and Breastfeeding Clinical Pharmacology.
He is a well-known international lecturer in the pharmacology of lactation and is the author of five books including: Medications and Mothers’ Milk, the top-selling drug reference manual in the world. His other books include Textbook of Human Lactation; Clinical Therapy in Breastfeeding Women; and Drug Therapy and Breastfeeding. He is considered by many to be one of the world’s leading authorities in the use of medications in breastfeeding women.

The conference registration fee of $200 includes instructional materials, breakfast, lunch, and break refreshments. Pre-registration is required, and preferred by January 22, 2020.
Out of respect for conference participants, children are restricted from the conference.
If you cancel your participation in this conference, your registration fee, less an administration fee, will be refunded when written notification is received by Mayo Continuing Nursing Education before January 22, 2020 (email: email@example.com). No refunds will be made on or after January 22, 2020.
Mayo Continuing Nursing Education reserves the right to cancel or postpone any conference due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event Mayo Continuing Nursing Education must cancel or postpone this conference, Mayo Continuing Nursing Education will refund the registration fee, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses to participants, including fees assessed by airline/travel/lodging agencies.
