Conference Description:

This course is designed to update the clinical knowledge and skills of those who care for adults with gastroenterology/hepatology diagnoses. Expert faculty will present on multiple topics, including pancreatic cancer, fecal transplants, gastrointestinal motility, feeding tubes, management of inflammatory bowel disease, and diagnostic and surgical procedures. A patient story will also be shared, highlighting decision-making, coordination of care and navigating a complex care environment during a serious illness.

Conference Goals:

•             Identify nursing’s role in the care and management of gastrointestinal patients

•             Examine the patient perspective in treatment and ongoing management of gastrointestinal diseases

•             Discuss the importance of nutrition for patients with gastrointestinal diseases

Intended Audience:

This conference is designed for registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, and other healthcare professionals providing care for patients with gastrointestinal diagnoses.

Registration Details

Register before October 16, 2018 

The conference registration fee of $160 includes instructional materials, breakfast, and break refreshments. Lunch will be on your own. Pre-registration is required, and preferred by October 16, 2018.

Out of respect for conference participants, children are restricted from the conference.


If you cancel your participation in this conference, your registration fee, less an administration fee, will be refunded when written notification is received by Mayo Continuing Nursing Education before October 16, 2018 (email: No refunds will be made on or after October 16, 2018.

Mayo Continuing Nursing Education reserves the right to cancel or postpone any conference due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event Mayo Continuing Nursing Education must cancel or postpone this conference, Mayo Continuing Nursing Education will refund the registration fee, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses to participants, including fees assessed by airline/travel/lodging agencies.


You must complete the evaluation and claim your certificate to earn contact hours.


Participants can earn up to 7.25 ANCC nursing contact hours for attendance at the conference, commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity and completion of the evaluation.
