Are you a healthcare professional who typically avoids speaking to small or large groups? Are you looking for ways to overcome the fear of public speaking? Or, are you looking to build on a solid foundation of public speaking skills? If the answer to any of these questions is "yes" then the Presentation Skills Development Workshop is for you! Join us for this hands-on workshop to learn how to develop and deliver a professional, aesthetically-pleasing presentation from start to finish.

Workshop attendees will need to bring a personal laptop equipped with Microsoft® Office® PowerPoint® and Word® (or equivalent word processing software).

Workshop goals:
• Discuss development of an educational gap, presentation objectives, and audience assessment strategies
• Describe general considerations for presentation content development
• Explain characteristics of visually appealing slides
• Outline presentation delivery considerations
• List presentation resources

Intended audience: This workshop is designed for nurses, physicians, and pharmacists. All interested healthcare staff are welcome to attend.

Date and Location:

This conference will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in Leighton Auditorium, Siebens Building, Mayo Clinic, 100 Second Avenue SW, Rochester, Minnesota. Registration begins at 12:00 p.m. and the workshop will begin at 12:30 p.m. and adjourn at 4:45 p.m. One break with refreshments is included.

Registration Details

Register before September 12, 2019 

The conference registration fee of $85 includes instructional materials and break refreshments.  Pre-registration is required, and preferred by September 12, 2019.

Out of respect for conference participants, children are restricted from the conference.

Cancellations

If you cancel your participation in this conference, your registration fee, less an administration fee, will be refunded when written notification is received by Mayo Continuing Nursing Education before September 12, 2019 (email: cne@mayo.edu). No refunds will be made on or after September 12, 2019.

Mayo Continuing Nursing Education reserves the right to cancel or postpone any conference due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event Mayo Continuing Nursing Education must cancel or postpone this conference, Mayo Continuing Nursing Education will refund the registration fee, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses to participants, including fees assessed by airline/travel/lodging agencies.

You must complete the evaluation to earn contact hours. 

Nursing

Participants can earn up to 4.0 ANCC nursing contact hours for attendance at the conference, commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity and completion of the evaluation.

AMA: Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits ™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ACPE
